CPS Private Staffing is seeking a warm, experienced and proactive Nanny / Housekeeper on behalf of a lovely private family based in the United Kingdom.
This is a long-term opportunity for a professional who genuinely enjoys working with children whilst also taking pride in maintaining a well-organised and smoothly run household.
The successful candidate will become a valued and trusted member of the family, providing sole-charge care for a bright and energetic five-year-old daughter whilst supporting the day-to-day running of the home.
The family employ a cleaner twice per week, allowing the successful candidate to focus primarily on childcare, household organisation and family support.
The Role
This position combines hands-on childcare with light housekeeping, household administration and family errands.
The ideal candidate will be nurturing, engaging and organised, with previous experience supporting school-aged children and managing household routines independently. Confidence working on a sole-charge basis is essential, including occasional overnight and multi-day care when both parents travel for work.
The role offers the opportunity to build a long-term relationship with the family whilst becoming an important part of the child's development and daily life.

Mid-morning hours will be used for household organisation, food shopping and errands.
School Holidays

6:30am – 7:30pm
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging and age-appropriate holiday schedules, including educational activities, outings, creative play and structured routines.
Additional Requirements
One to two evenings per week when parents attend social or business engagements
Occasional weekend support with advance notice
Sole-charge care during parental business travel, approximately once per month for periods of 3–7 days
Responsibilities
Childcare
Managing the child's full daily routine
School drop-offs and collections
Coordinating extracurricular activities and playdates
Preparing healthy and nutritious meals and snacks
Supporting homework, reading and educational development
Bath time and bedtime routines
Planning engaging and stimulating activities during school holidays
Providing confident sole-charge care, including overnight stays when required
Encouraging positive development, independence and good manners
Household Support
Food shopping and household provisioning
Managing household errands including dry cleaning, post and prescriptions
Light housekeeping between cleaner visits
Family laundry and ironing
Maintaining organised wardrobes and storage areas
Keeping the kitchen clean and presentable following meal preparation
Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the household
Candidate Requirements
Essential
Minimum 2–3 years' professional nanny experience
Previous sole-charge childcare experience
Experience caring for school-aged children
Confident with overnight and extended childcare responsibilities
Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Full clean UK driving licence
Paediatric First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Excellent contactable references
Non-smoker
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Right to work in the United Kingdom
Desirable
CACHE, NNEB, NVQ or equivalent childcare qualification
Knowledge of child development and educational milestones
Confident family cook with an interest in healthy nutrition
