Job Description
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced House Manager to oversee the full operational management of one of London’s most distinguished private residences.
This substantial property comprises up to 30 bedrooms and operates at a consistent 5-star plus standard, welcoming international guests of the highest calibre.
The household is dynamic, particularly during booking periods and summer occupancy, requiring a confident, strategic and service-led professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments.
The appointed House Manager will take full ownership of the residence’s day-to-day operations, leading a large and diverse team while maintaining exceptional standards of presentation, service and efficiency throughout the year. This is a senior leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and the willingness to adopt a hands-on approach when required.

The successful candidate will work closely with the family office and wider administrative teams, ensuring structured reporting, seamless communication and disciplined financial control. The role is live-out and best suited to a London-based professional seeking long-term stability within an established UHNW environment.

Duties
Operational Leadership & Oversight
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs of the residence, identifying and reporting maintenance issues
  • Prepare the property for client arrivals, viewings and high-profile occupancy
  • Lead, manage and inspire a team of 12 full-time staff and up to 30 part-time service and catering staff
  • Develop and manage staff rotas, scheduling and seasonal coverage plans
  • Maintain exceptional service standards across all departments
Financial & Administrative Management
  • Oversee household budgets, expenditure control and financial reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of property maintenance, procurement and purchasing logs for the family office
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and performance management of residential staff
  • Coordinate with administrative teams to align household and family requirements
  • Manage ad hoc operational and administrative tasks as required
Events & Guest Management
  • Oversee and manage private events hosted at the property, including celebrations and formal gatherings
  • Coordinate closely with the chef, butler and security teams during peak summer periods
  • Ensure flawless logistics, presentation and guest experience at all times
External Liaison & Property Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with local service providers, contractors and emergency contacts
  • Oversee maintenance coordination and ensure the estate remains in impeccable physical and technical condition
  • Arrange services, procurement and deliveries as required by the principals
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues swiftly and discreetly
Candidate Profile Desired
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as a House Manager within UHNW private households
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in 5-star hotel management
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing large, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong longevity in previous roles with exceptional checkable references
  • Highly organised, technologically proficient and detail-oriented
  • Strategically minded yet comfortable adopting a hands-on approach
  • Calm under pressure with outstanding communication skills
